SESSIONS + CLASSES

PRIVATE SESSIONS
One-on-one sessions are the most effective way to focus on your unique needs, injuries or personal concerns. During these sessions you will have the opportunity to utilize all Pilates’ apparatuses in addition to incorporating Pilates mat work. This session is highly recommended for first time clients and people who want to receive the full benefits of Pilates. This is the best way to become familiar with the terminology and movement of Pilates.

DUET SESSIONS
An opportunity to explore Pilates, while receiving technical input from a shared instructor. Similarly to the Private sessions, work is done on all of the Pilates equipment and mat. It is strongly recommended to take private sessions before starting semi-private sessions. Share a duet session with a friend or spouse. Sessions are limited to 2 participants.

TOWER CLASS
Joseph Pilates created equipment to act as additional muscles to aid the body on it's path to health - the Tower class accesses the weak or illusive areas of your body to uniformly build alignment, muscular balance and aerobic, flowing movement.

MAT CLASS
The true essence of all Pilates work. Mat classes offer an aerobic series of floor work exercises designed to create body alignment, long, lean muscles and core strength. Clients are placed in different level classes according to their abilities and physical limitations.

REFORMER
This is a combination of intermediate mat work and a highly developed use of pullies and straps on a gliding platform on which one can stand, kneel, sit and lie. The muscles are lengthened and strengthened, once torso stability is achieved.

This class will challenge more experienced students as they strive to the ideal form of the exercises. Increased tempo, flow, repetition and range of movement will challenge students to use their own bodies’ resistance to correct muscular imbalances caused by active daily living.

WHAT TO WEAR

For Pilates it is desirable to wear comfortable close fitting, easy to move in clothing. Ideally lycra is the best material to wear, such as bike pants or leggings with a fitting top, or tank top. Please wear thin socks* to class (ankle socks are the best).

THE REASON FOR THIS TYPE OF CLOTHING
The only way to improve your postural muscles is to give the instructor an opportunity to see what your muscles are doing. Wearing unsuitable clothing (baggy shorts and thick materials) makes it difficult for the instructor to see your movements, and could mean you could recruit your muscles incorrectly, resulting in no benefit.

It is recommended you bring a water* bottle to prevent dehydration.

*Socks and water may be purchased at the studio.
